The Australian Death Check

The Australian Death Check is the only official source of national death data for Australia. This service spans across 3 million death records from the year 2000 onwards, combing all states and territory registries, and updates daily for the most accurate reporting.

InfoTrack is an approved data service broker, meaning you can connect directly to the national database without having to leave the InfoTrack platform. Using the integrated service you can check:

  • If a person is registered as deceased on the national database
  • Validate death certificate details are registered in the database

Access to the Australian Death Check is particularly useful for:

  • Verifying identity and reducing fraud where someone might impersonate a deceased person or provide fake death certificates.
  • Professional due diligence for legal practitioners and accountants.
  • Estate lawyers who must check that the beneficiaries are still alive before submitting probate or distributing the estate.
