Wagga Wagga, Port Macquarie, and Tamworth are among the regional locations to make the top 10 list of New South Wales’ most popular suburbs for property sales, according to the latest data.
Prop tech firm InfoTrack began tracking the state’s post codes with the highest number of overall sales last quarter and today has released its quarterly Property Market Update listing the suburbs with the highest sales volumes from 1 January – 31 March 2025.
It found entrants 2650 (East Wagga Wagga and surrounds), 2444 (Port Macquarie and surrounds), and 2340 (Tamworth and surrounds) were among the locations to make the list.
InfoTrack Head of Property Australia, Lee Bailie, said buyers were expanding their radius beyond Greater Western Sydney.
“We’ve seen growing popularity for regional centres right across the state, from Tamworth to Wagga to Port Macquarie,” Mr Bailie said.
“We’re seeing a trend of house buyers increasingly exploring outer-metro and regional areas, thanks to their growth potential, more accessible price points, and the lifestyles on offer.”
InfoTrack has long tracked the most in-demand locations for first home buyers and while western Sydney’s Liverpool once again proved dominant – in the number one position for the third quarter running – regional locations also proved popular.
“Once again we’re seeing regional areas strongly represented, with East Wagga Wagga and Orange joining Gosford on the Central Coast as popular locations outside of metropolitan Sydney.”
“It’s interesting to note that the 2650 postcode which encompasses 54 suburbs including East Wagga Wagga and North Wagga Wagga, made its debut appearance in both the state’s overall sales figures and in the first home buyer category.”
The top three suburbs for overall sales remained consistent to last quarter’s results – with 2765 (Marsden Park and surrounds) taking out the number one spot for the second quarter, and 2155 (Kellyville) overtaking 2170 (Liverpool) for second place.
While for first home buyers, Liverpool was joined by postcode 2762 (Schofields and Tallawong), and Campbelltown and surrounds to round out the top three.
