New figures show Buderim has topped the list for Queensland’s bestselling suburbs for houses.
National data from property experts InfoTrack found there was a 62 per cent increase in real estate sales across the country, when comparing January to March, as house prices fell.
InfoTrack’s Head of Property Australia, Lee Bailie, said the Property Market Update Q1 2023 confirmed Buderim is a property hot spot.
“Buderim had the highest volume of house sales from 1 January to 30 March of any suburb across the State,” Mr Bailie said.
“It was one of three Sunshine Coast suburbs to be named in the top 10, with Tewantin coming in at number six, and Noosaville at number 10.
“Other popular Queensland suburbs include Upper Coomera, Ormeau, Thornlands, Robina, Capalaba, Helensvale, and Burleigh Waters.”
It was the second quarter in a row Buderim topped the list.
“Buderim is close to the beach and yet properties are much more affordable than other Sunshine Coast suburbs,” Mr Bailie said.
“It’s proving to be a great location to raise a family, and ABS data shows 5–14-year-olds account for the highest population count of any age group (13.70%) when compared to the overall suburb population.”
The data revealed the number of property sales across Queensland this year had steadily increased.
“Sales jumped by 57 per cent between January and March 2023,” Mr Bailie said.
“While the Sunshine Coast remained the top choice for houses, the Gold Coast was the most popular location for unit purchases with Surfers Paradise, Southport, and Hope Island rounding out the top three for the highest volume of sales of residential units.
“Given the overall strong performance of property sales over the most recent quarter, we expect more Australians to take advantage of the current buyer’s market to purchase a home.”
