Each year at the start of Spring, hundreds of thousands of participants lace up their trainers for a good cause – Steptember. Held by the Cerebral Palsy Alliance, the event aims to unite a community of passionate fitness enthusiasts to take up the challenge of walking 10,000 steps a day whilst raising essential funds for those living with cerebral palsy.
Head of People and Culture, Dan Ko, detailed why participating in Steptember was important for InfoTrack. “Being involved in Steptember each year is a great initiative for InfoTrack as a group. You don’t need to have been personally impacted by someone who has Cerebral Palsy to know how important this event is, and how crucial the funds raised will be to helping someone live their best life. Each year we have an overwhelming number of people wanting to be involved, it’s a great way for team members to come together and bond over a healthy activity that keeps people moving in a fun and social way.”
Throughout the month of September, the InfoTrack team so far has taken 5,480,180 steps towards improving the lives of children and adults with cerebral palsy. As they head towards their united stepping and fundraising goal at the end of the month, the individual and team participants are eagerly cheering each other on.
Michelle Klemmt, a Product Specialist with SettleIT, has been a regular participant in Steptember since she joined InfoTrack. “InfoTrack already has a great team environment and being involved in a fundraising event like Steptember just unifies everyone and solidifies our team spirit. I love that we can all enjoy some healthy competition for a good cause. You can hear around the office people asking each other what their step count is, it’s a great way for everyone to get to know other team members and just have some fun”.
Steptember is an annual event that runs from the 1st to the 30th of September. Essential funds support life-changing research, treatment, and services to help people with cerebral palsy. InfoTrack will continue to raise funds to support Steptember throughout the month.
