Turning new regulatory obligations into workable processes was a major challenge for professional service firms navigating AUSTRAC’s Tranche 2 reforms. InfoTrack addressed this challenge by developing its AML/CTF Compliance Centre in collaboration with Grant Thornton Australia, advisers to AUSTRAC, using the regulator’s official Starter Kits and feedback from practitioners. Now used by nearly 10,000 firms, the Compliance Centre has been recognised on the 2026 Most Innovative Companies list, a significant endorsement for a solution that has been on the market since March.
The shortlisting follows two other recent recognitions of the same product. In September, the AML/CTF Compliance Centre won the People’s Choice Award in the technology innovation category at the 2026 Finder Innovation Awards, a result determined by public vote, and was also named a finalist in the judged Best Tech Innovation category. In October, it was named a Winner in the Digital Design Interface category at the 2026 Australian Good Design Awards, where a jury of more than 100 Australian and international design experts assessed entries against three criteria, Good Design, Design Innovation and Design Impact. Taken together with the Most Innovative Companies shortlisting, the three recognitions reflect assessment by the practitioners who voted, by a design jury and by an innovation programme, each applying a different lens to the same product.
The Compliance Centre was created for law firms, conveyancers, accountants and real estate agents who have taken on anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing obligations for the first time. It brings onboarding, verification and reporting workflows into a single solution that sits inside a firm’s existing practice management system, so that practitioners meet their obligations in the place they already work and no new technology needs to be learned. Because the workflows follow the regulator’s own published material and were developed with an advisory firm that works with AUSTRAC, practitioners are working from a process that reflects what the regulator expects.
Kristy Lee Bullock, Chief Product Officer at InfoTrack, said the build process shaped the product as much as the legislation did. “Turning legislation into something a practitioner can act on in the middle of a busy matter is a design challenge as much as a legal one. Starting from AUSTRAC’s own Starter Kits and working with Grant Thornton gave us a firm foundation, and the practitioners who shaped the Centre alongside us kept our attention on what firms actually need to do each day.”
The results of that approach have been measured in adoption. The Compliance Centre went from 0 users to more than 8,000 within its first 90 days, and now serves more than 9,500 Australian firms, a pace that reflects how urgently practices of every size were looking for a workable path to compliance.
Lee Bailie, Chief Operating Officer at InfoTrack, said confidence in a compliance tool is earned through the way it is built. “A compliance tool is only as useful as the confidence practitioners have in it. Building alongside an advisory firm that works with the regulator, and listening to firms face to face, meant that confidence was part of the design from the outset rather than something we had to earn later.”
